5 Star Fescue Grass Seed Blend has five of the best-rated dwarf turf type fescues. Examples include: Crossfire II, Cayenne, and Blade Runner. This blend will allow turfgrass to be deep-rooted and maintain a dark green color. 5-Star has high disease resistance to brown patches of fungus which can occur in humid and hot areas; along with being drought tolerant. With fertilization and water, 5 Star will provide healthy lawns. No care to minimal care is needed. It also performs well in shady areas, as long as it receives two to four hours of sunlight.

After 2 lawn plantings, seed did not germinate. I then Created 3 test dishes with 5 Star and two different other seeds. The two other seeds germinated and the 5 Star did not. Since the label was wrong and was re-communicated by customer service, it’s proven I was sent old seed that will not germinate.

I aerated my lawn, added a lite layer of compost over the seeds, starter fertilizer, and I used straw to prevent the seeds from washing away. Germination happened around 10 days but it’s spotty at best. I was hoping 5 start product would Be what I use each year but it's too early to tell.
Product arrived quickly and looks to be fresh seed in good condition.
Quality check tags is dated for October 2022. Just laid so we will see if it sprouts.
Love the color. Grows in areas in my shaded yard where no other TTF grass will grow. Blends well.
