Fast shipping, large size, bug infestation, no response from customer service

Ordered the passion fruit tree as a gift for my husband who has always dreamed of having one. Shipping was super fast, which I really appreciated, since ordering plants online can be scary and potentially a death sentence to our green friends. Upon first opening the box, I saw that all of the leaves had big holes in them, indicative of a pest problem. After removing it from the box, I saw tons of mites on the leaves, as well as snails and other cocoons of tiny terrorists waiting in the wings to wreak havoc. The plant itself, though thoroughly munched on, is a great size and would have had me bouncing with joy if it weren’t for the bugs. I immediately emailed the customer service address provided, but haven’t heard a response. I’m bummed because this is a great plant, but with a huge problem, and I’m terrified of this pest infestation making its way to the other plants, as well as a little embarrassed that I had to gift a big bug plant.
